Volunteerism

“I tutor two children once a week at a Fountain Hills elementary school. It is very rewarding. People living in Rio Verde spend a lot of time giving back."- Maizelle Warrington, Winnipeg
Giving back is deeply embedded in the Rio Verde culture. Many residents volunteer within the community or at local schools, churches, non-profits, hospitals and museums.
Some examples…
The Rio Verde Habitat for Humanity Chapter has built a house every year for the past 25 years.
The Community Relations Committee (CRC) organizes activities and services that enrich the community and is a great place to have fun and make new friends.
There are numerous opportunities to volunteer at the Community Church of the Verdes and the St. Dominic Catholic Mission. New voices are always welcome to sing with one of the Verdes choirs, and volunteers are asked to help on church projects benefiting local nonprofit organizations.
The Verde Community Christmas Project Inc. provides assistance to needy families at the holidays.
VerdeCares Inc. is a nonprofit Arizona corporation that provides non medical care and assistance for community residents of the lower Verde Valley.
