Saddle Club

The Rio Verde Saddle Club is a member-owned, non-profit association that was established in 1979 to provide facilities and full-time care for members’ horses. Located at the historic Rio Verde Box Bar Ranch, the club’s facilities include a fourteen-stall barn, outside pens, riding/exercise arenas, tack room, and a feed/hay storage shed. The Club contracts with an experienced wrangler/caretaker to provide feeding and stall cleaning as well as on-site security and general facilities maintenance.

There are many miles of excellent trails in the adjoining Tonto National Forest and county parks. The Verde River is easily crossed on horseback most times of the year. Riders enjoy a variety of trails in the mountains and desert washes. Opportunities for exploration, native plant and wildlife sightings, scenic vistas, and panoramic views are limitless. Without a doubt, this is seeing the Old West the way it was meant to be seen!

Members and their families also enjoy ranch cookouts and a number of social events during the year.
